Work to coordinate Aalto University’s efforts with two of the most exciting festivals in Finland.

Aalto University is looking for a Festival Project Coordinator to oversee our yearly Aalto Festival along with our activities at Flow Festival.

Each May, Aalto Festival works to highlight and elevate all the amazing projects, seminars, programmes and exhibitions on-campus and beyond. Upwards of 100 different major and marquee events are organized under one umbrella. Flow Festival – which takes part each August in Helsinki – is the premier arts and culture festival in the Nordics, drawing over 75 000 people each year. Aalto University partners with FLOW to highlight the many efforts of our Art & Creative Practices, with various on-site activities and build outs.

Our festival project coordinator is the main point of contact for Aalto Festival and a liaison for Aalto’s visibility at Flow Festival. This person works to coordinate and organize all the functions of these world class events with a focus on strategic alignment and event production. Crucial for succeeding at this job is the ability to empower and engage with diverse stakeholders including students, faculty, leadership and staff.

Along with developing the concepts for both events, a strong sense of brand visibility, social media and reporting on various KPIs will be part of the position. The ideal candidate has deep experience with event production and schedules, an understanding of dynamic environments, planning software and the ability to work independently. A suitable degree, knowledge in the different schools and fields within the University will also be recognised.

We offer you a fun and exciting task, and the support of a competent team. This is a fixed term circa 6 months contract, starting as soon as possible. Salary is based on Aalto University’s salary system.
